If your Slowly profile is showing the wrong location, it’s usually due to location permission settings or interference from VPNs or other apps. Here’s how to fix it:
1. Check location permissions
Make sure Slowly has access to your device’s location services:
- iOS: Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Slowly and set it to While Using the App
- Android: Go to Settings > Apps > Slowly > Permissions > Location and turn it ON
Then, in the Slowly app:
- Go to My Profile (bottom right tab) → tap the Settings icon (top right corner) → scroll to Privacy Settings → turn ON Enable Location Auto-update
2. Refresh your location manually
Follow these steps to update your location:
- Turn off any VPN connection
- Fully close the Slowly app (do not leave it running in the background)
- Open your phone’s default map app (Apple Maps or Google Maps) and load your current location
- Keep the map app open, then restart Slowly and check your profile location
3. Update system services (Android only)
If you’re on Android, make sure Google Play services is updated to the latest version, as Slowly relies on it for accurate location data.
IMPORTANT:
Your Slowly location can only be updated once every 12 hours to prevent location spoofing. If you’ve recently updated it, you may need to wait before trying again.
