Slowly uses your device's geo-location to track your current location when you open the app. This information is used for calculating distances between you and your pen pals and estimating delivery times for your letters.
If you have previously disabled geo-location permission, the app will retain your last known location until you enable the permission again. We encourage users to keep geo-location permission enabled for a better overall experience. Manually selecting your location is not an available option.
If you have difficulties updating your location, please ensure that you have granted location update permissions for Slowly in both the device and the in-app settings.
For Android devices:
Settings > Apps & notifications > App permissions > Location permissions > Slowly > Turn ON.
For iOS devices:
Phone: Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Slowly > While using the app
To enable location auto-updates in Slowly, follow these steps:
- Go to My Profile ( ☰ in the bottom menu )
- Go to Settings ( ⚙️ at the top right corner )
- Scroll down to Privacy Settings section
- Toggle Enable Location Auto-update ON
