Can other users get my current location on Slowly?

Yes and no. Slowly provides some location information to other users, but it's important to understand how this process works. We value your privacy and safety and have implemented several mechanisms to protect your location information, including:

1. Location Sharing Conditions:

   • Others can see your location on the map only when you send them a letter, specifically when the letter is in delivery.
   • Your location is not updated instantly but rather once per login session.
   • The app displays users' locations with a degree of randomness, shifting them within a +/- 30km radius. This ensures that the displayed location is not your precise location and covers an approximate area of 2,827.43 km².
     
     

2. Managing Location Sharing:

   • If you have concerns about sharing your location, you can disable the location auto-update setting within the app by following these steps:
     • Go to in the bottom menu
     • Go to  at the top right corner
     • Scroll down to Privacy Settings section
     • Turn off Enable Location Auto-update
       

3. Excluding Users from Nearby Regions:

   • If you want to limit interactions with people in your nearby regions, you can exclude them. Please note that this exclusion only applies to new friends, as you cannot exclude users you are already connected with. Here's how:
     
     • Go to in the bottom menu
     • Scroll down and choose Matching Preferences
     • Find Exclude Regions and then tap Manage
     • Select the regions you wish to exclude, then save your preferences
       

4. Important Note:

   • The purpose of tracking your location in Slowly is to calculate the distance and letter delivery time between you and your friends. As a result, it's not possible to completely hide or manually alter your location within the app.
