I received a new match whose profile includes my Excluded Topics. How to fix it?

We understand it can be confusing to receive a match who has selected topics you’ve excluded in your Matching Preferences. Here are a few reasons why this might happen:

1. The sender changed their selected topics after sending the letter

   If the user updated their profile topics after the letter was sent, it will still be delivered, even if their new topics now fall within your excluded list.

2. The letter was written before you updated your settings

   If someone started writing to you before you changed your Matching Preferences, the system allows them to finish and send the letter. Due to Slowly’s delayed delivery, you may receive such letters later.

This is typically a one-time occurrence. Users with your excluded topics will no longer be able to find you in the matching list moving forward.
