We understand it can be confusing to receive a match from a region you’ve excluded in your Matching Preferences. Here are a few reasons why this might happen:

The sender changed their location after sending the letter
If the user updated their profile location after the letter was sent, it will still be delivered, even if their new location now falls within your excluded regions.

The letter was written before your settings were updated
If someone started writing to you before you changed your Matching Preferences, the system allows them to finish and send the letter. Due to Slowly’s delayed delivery, you may receive such letters later.
This is typically a one-time occurrence. Users from your excluded regions will no longer be able to find you in the matching list moving forward.
