This message means your letter has already been sent, and a friendship has been created. The app may not have refreshed correctly due to a temporary connection issue.
To fix this, log out of your account, fully close the app from your device’s task manager, then reopen it. After logging back in, check your friend list. The new pen pal and your letter should appear there.
