How do you use "Profiles" to match a pen pal?

To find and connect with a pen pal using the "Profiles" feature on Slowly, follow these steps:

1. Browse users’ profiles

Start by exploring user profiles within the Profiles tab in Discover ( in the bottom menu). Each user’s profile is presented as a card featuring essential information such as nickname, location, language preference and zodiac sign in the top right corner. A chat bubble next to their avatar icon indicates they have filled out the "About Me" section in their profile. For more details, tap on the profile card. Take your time to explore these profiles to see if you share common interests and if any of them pique your curiosity.

2. Apply filters

To refine your exploration further, you can utilise the filter options ( at the top right corner). These allow you to narrow down your choices based on specific criteria such as location, topics, or language. Please be aware that the profiles displayed in the app will, by default, correspond with your matching preferences. By applying filters, you may receive fewer matching profiles, but they will more closely align with the specific preferences set in your filters.

3. Compose your first letters

When you come across a profile that captures your interest, you can initiate a connection by writing your first letter to them. Tap the   button at the bottom right corner of their profile page. Crafting a thoughtful first letter can make a positive impression and increase the likelihood of receiving a response.

4. Send and await a response

Once you have finished your letter, tap   in the top right corner. Now, it’s time to wait patiently for the response. It is important to note that once a letter is sent, it cannot be cancelled, so remember to review it before sending.
