How can I add a friend I already know?

You can add friends you already know in Slowly by using their Slowly ID. You cannot look for them if you only have their Slowly nicknames.

To add friends by Slowly ID, you must first obtain your friend’s Slowly ID and ensure they have enabled the function "Allowing others add me by ID", which can be set in "Accepting New Friends" in My Profiles ( in the bottom menu).

Here are the steps to add friends using Slowly ID:

1. Go to  Discover (the middle tab in the bottom menu)
2. Under Discover People, select Slowly ID
3. In the "Add Friend By Slowly ID" section, search for your friend by entering their Slowly ID 
4. Click Request

Your friend will have to accept your friend request, which they can find in the "Friend Requests" section on their home screen (i.e. under Recently Received). 

Once your friend accepts your request, their name will appear in your friend list, and you can start the pen pal journey with them on Slowly.
